Project Coordinator sought for Bethlehem Farm, a small Catholic volunteer community serving the people of rural West Virginia through home repair and providing service experiences to high school and college volunteers. In collaboration with the Director and other Caretakers, the Project Coordinator trains Caretakers as work site leaders and is responsible for coordinating home repair projects - assessment, implementation, and documentation. (More detailed position information is included at the end of this email.)
Qualifications:
-2 years' construction or carpentry experience with a working knowledge of basic home repair skills-Ability to work with local community members, coordinate work sites, teach staff and volunteers
-Openness to prayer, simplicity, and living in community
-A person of deep faith, open to the Catholic tradition and experienced in young adult ministry
-Minimum commitment of 1 year
Compensation:
-Stipend commensurate with experience
-Medical, dental, and vision insurance
-Room and board in the caretaker community house, and local use of Farm vehicles
-Travel and personal/professional development stipends

Detailed Role Description
General Responsibilities
• Assess project requests, recommend and prioritize projects
• Create written plans for selected projects including estimated costs, time, labor and equipment needs
• Train caretakers and volunteers on leadership, construction skills, safety
• Monitor work sites through close contact with site leaders, homeowners
Materials & Supplies
• Purchase and order all materials and supplies for projects
• Oversee the efficient use of materials and supplies
• Maintain accurate inventory of project supplies
• Process receipts for project supplies (and farm improvement supplies)
• Create bills for homeowners and delivers bills in person
Administration
• Administer proper safety standards and conduct all necessary orientations to ensure safety for volunteers, caretakers and families at the farm and at all worksites
• Maintain documentation related to worksites
Community and Public Relations
• Maintain a good relationship with local contacts and service agencies
• Be the contact person for local social service agencies requesting home repair (or other) help, and maintains positive relationship with agency staff
• Uphold Christian standards and values as described in “Responsibilities of Community Members” in the Community Handbook
Qualifications
• Two years' construction experience with a working knowledge of basic home repair skills including framing, roofing, drywall, and trim work (plumbing and electrical optional)
• Ability to teach caretakers and volunteers
• Open to living a close committed community life
• Open to collaborative ministry with volunteers and the people of the area
• A person of deep faith open to the Catholic tradition experienced in young adult ministry
