Description

Are you a DIY enthusiast that is also up-to-speed on social media trends and sustainable design? Do you want to help introduce the principles and tools of sustainable design to hobbyists, younger audiences, and the general public? As the Sustainability Maker Advocate, you will work to make learning about and practicing sustainable design fun, easy, and engaging. The ideal candidate is a tinkerer studying industrial design, engineering, or architecture.

The Autodesk Sustainable Design Program oversees the creation of educational content that explains the principles and the practice of sustainable design to engineers and designers. We are now seeking to move beyond education channels to reach people directly with content and tools that are more entertaining and accessible. Reporting to the Sustainability Education Program Manager, the candidate will support the strategy and execution of these new offerings.

Project Role:

· Identify and articulate customer needs and demand. Conduct market research and gather opinions of industry experts.

· Provide insights and recommendations to influence future product strategy.

· Engage customers, hobbyists, and educators in the prototyping, creation, validation, and refinement of new offerings.

Requirements:

· Currently a full-time student at a US accredited university with at least one semester to complete after the internship

· Engineering, science, or industrial design major preferred. Majors in engineering technology, education, business, and architecture will also be considered.

· Experience with 3D CAD. Autodesk Inventor preferred.

· Creativity and ability to generate and execute upon new ideas.

· Broadly conversant and up-to-date in Sustainable Design terminology and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with rapid prototyping tools and technology.

· Experience with coding and software development (for mobile platforms).

· Experience with game design and game mechanics

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and deal with ambiguity.

· Excellent communication, writing, facilitation and presentation skills.

· Demonstrated abilities in project management and setting priorities

· Ability to work in team environment and successfully build collaborative relationships throughout the Company
